Seems we are moving towards a dictatorship

Donald Trump has told aides he wants fewer people working for him in the White House and only loyalists installed in key administration positions. Trump’s allies have provided him lists of people they’ve identified as disloyal and of names they say would work better toward advancing his agenda.

They plans to first focus efforts on personnel at the State Department and Defense Department. Promotions and significant staff changes should not occur without prior approval from the presidential personnel office.

The bench of competent people who have also never criticized Trump is virtually nonexistent. Some jobs simply won’t be filled or will be filled only temporarily until after the President wins reelection, as high-level hires will likely be reluctant to take posts that at this point may not last longer than eight months.

The Roger Stone team did not object when the forewoman in Stones trial was allowed to be on the jury but yet Trump and his cronies continue to say that she was tainted as an anti-Trumper. What’s the point of having a trial if they were all pro-Trumpers? They want a new trial. There has been no evidence of this. You think Trump would of said anything if Stone got off easy say with probation or a short prison term?

After US District Judge Amy Berman Jackson praised the integrity who served on the jury, Trump also is suggesting that a new trial should be allowed. Good luck there Donnie. Stop trying to rescue your cronies who land in prison. You should be happy Stone got less than 3.5 years. He’ll be out anyways soon when you pardon him.

Trump called for two liberal Supreme Court justices to recuse themselves from cases involving him following a scathing dissent issued by one of them, blasting the justices as the court considers a number of cases critical to his presidency. “I just don’t know how they can’t recuse themselves for anything having to do with Trump or Trump-related,” Trump said of Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Trump claims that though administration efforts to contain the virus, claiming the US had “essentially closed the borders.” Trump has also confidently predicted that warming spring weather could snuff out coronavirus, despite no evidence that is the case. He is equating the virus with a cold or flu. “Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” Trump tweeted even after it tumbled 1,000 points on Wall Street two days in a row.

During a news conference to discuss the coronavirus threat to the US, Trump criticized Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi “incompetent”. “She lifted my poll numbers up ten points… I’m leading everybody… I’ve been beating her routinely at everything… Go back to her district and clean it up.” Don’t want to ask who’s polls. Rasmussen? Leading everyone in what? Incompetence?

Just before the conference, only then he was told that the coronavirus has a higher mortality rate than the regular flu. He didn’t seem to know that the flu actually kills people [0.1% for the flu or up to 49,000 Americans a year].

Donald Trump Jr comments on Fox [where else?]: “But for them to try to take a pandemic and seemingly hope that it comes here, and kills millions of people so that they could end Donald Trump’s streak of winning, is a new level of sickness. You know, I don’t know if this is coronavirus or Trump derangement syndrome, but these people are infected badly.”

He is suggesting that Democrats are rooting for coronavirus to come to the United States and kill “millions of people” solely so that they might have a better chance of winning in November. Unsure if he actually believes this is just stoking fearmongering. If he believes [I’m sure he does] that his father will win, these comments aren’t necessary. “Streak”?

Trump is nominating Texas Rep. John Ratcliffe to be the next Director of National Intelligence. Ratcliffe withdrew his name from consideration for the same job last year amid bipartisan concerns about his qualifications but Trump now appears open to the idea of tapping him for the DNI job a second time. The US Ambassador to the Netherlands, Pete Hoekstra, has also been spoken to.

While on a trip to India, Trump said, “They are going to take it away from Crazy Bernie, they are not going to let him win…I actually think he would be tougher than most of the other candidates because he is like me but I have a much bigger base.” Everything with him is a competition where he is always the winner.

Before he arrived Ahmedabad, Trump placed his expected crowd count for his “Namaste Trump” rally in the range of 6 to 10 million, but given the city’s population of 8 million and the stadium’s capacity of 110,000, those figures seemed high.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced in September that he would block any consideration of a bill to lower prescription drug costs. By the end of December, he had raked in more than $50,000 in contributions from political action committees and individuals tied to the pharmaceutical industry. Yes. This is Trump’s way of cleaning the swamp.

“Socialist price controls will do a lot of left-wing damage to the healthcare system” is what he said in September when the Democrats leaded a bill to lower prescription costs. So he prefers Americans to spend more money on drugs which would help his buddies in the pharmaceutical industry.

The US Department of Defense confirmed that computer systems controlled by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) had been hacked, exposing the personal data of about 200,000 people. The US agency in charge of secure communication for the White House. The agency oversees military communications including calls for Donald Trump. The data exposed included names and social security numbers.
