Fixing Windows 10 Store issues after upgrading

Seems for some people, after upgrading to Windows 10 the Microsoft Store may get stuck while opening. The following should fix the problem:

PowerShell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Command “& {$manifest = (Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.WindowsStore).InstallLocation + ‘\AppxManifest.xml’ ; Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $manifest}”

In case it doesn’t, Microsoft has a tool that could help.

You can also try the following to get diagnostics on why it is failing using the error code and detailed event logs that provide more information:

When an API fails, it returns an error code that describes the problem. If the error code doesn’t provide enough info, you can get detailed event logs that provide more info to help you diagnose.

  1. Run the Event Viewer [eventvwr.msc].
  2. Go to Event Viewer (Local) > Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows.
  3. First verify the log AppxPackagingOM > Microsoft-Windows-AppxPackaging/Operational.
  4. As well deployment related errors are recorded in AppXDeployment-Server > Microsoft-Windows-AppXDeploymentServer/Operational.
