Windows 8.1 Update 1 goes to RTM

Microsoft has announced that Windows 8.1 Update 1 has been “released to manufacturing” [RTM]. It will be available for Windows 8.1 users most likely in about a month from now [the so-called “Patch Tuesday” in April].

This update will be available by the standard “traditional” way – like any other update – and not the way Windows 8.1 was available [Microsoft Store].

The 64-bit version weighs in at a bit over 750MB to download. There also may be some updates that need to be installed before [prerequisites] as well as after [supplemental updates]. Expect multiple updates.
