Computer Tip: Wireless adapter not working in Windows 8.1

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8 you may notice that the wifi adapter was showing “limited” or “No Internet Access”. Assuming your wireless router is functioning; resetting the network adapter won’t fix the problem. Neither will updating the drivers. The Troubleshooting Problems may only temporarily fix the problem.

To solve the problem, see if wireless adapter that it is set to ‘Auto’ for 802.11n Channel Width for band 2.4 in the device manager. If not, change it to ‘Auto’.

Note that a more permanent fix may be available at one point.
