Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 released to paid subscribers

If you are a TechNet Plus or MSDN paid subscriber, Microsoft did an about face and have released Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials plus some tools and language packs to their respective web sites today.

As well, with the demise of TechNet Plus subscriptions, Microsoft has extended all subscriptions [I believe but don’t quote me] if still a subscriber on September 1st by an extra 3 months past your original subscription. So a subscription that dies on December 1st, 2013 now dies on February 1st, 2014. Not a major thing really since don’t expect any new software releases on October 1st. In a sense, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 could be the last release posted on TechNet plus.

Sniff. [Out with a bang or a whimper?]
